I am into lightweight backpacking and so far I have bought the following solar panels GoalZeo Nomad 7, Anker 14W and finally the ECEEN 19.5W. I recently had a chance to try them in Western NC mountains side by side, we were car camping and took everything. The ECEEN was bought to cut weight and still be able to charge my Note 3 with Two batteries (GPS, music, books and Videos, Note 3 Camera Setup with 4-12x Telephoto and macro/wide/fisheye) plus my AA batteries and sometimes 14,000 mAh battery pack. In approximately four hours, I was able to charge my Note 3 in airplane mode from 20% to 90%, we has intermittent sun shine and it was easily providing app 5.1 V, 1.65 A, same numbers what I get when I plug in the wall charger. I need to test more but if we got clouds and I saw the charging drop to app 3 watts, and then the sun came out back again, it did not started drawing the full power, unless disconnected and reconnected again. I will update my review as I gather more data (I am a EE and work in electrical utilities, so I may have more interest than an average user) but I highly recommend the product if weight is a consideration. If rough use is more of concern then Goalzero/Anker panels are thicker with what seems like higher quality components all around.

I bought this for a backpacking trip I just came back from today! I backpacked the John Muir Trail starting in Yosemite Valley CA to Mt Whitney which was a total of 224miles for me. My partner brought his Goal Zero 10w solar charger and I brought this ECEEN 14w. Out of the first post office in Tuolumne Valley we ended up shipping some stuff back home to lighten our load and we sent back the Goal Zero! I was worried that not knowing this brand it wouldn't be very reliable, boy was I wrong. First off the 14w definitely charges faster than his 10w charger. But really set the ECEEN apart was the fact that it has 2 usb ports while the GZ has only 1 and you need adapters if you want to plug in a 2nd device. The ECEEN ended up being lighter and smaller than the GZ charger.
Besides the comparison between the two; the ECEEN was very durable and working just fine aftr being slammed on the ground many times as I dropped my pack at the end of every hike. What surprised me is that eve without direct sunlight fading sunset light, and other conditions that I would think would cause any solar charger not to work didn't phase the ECEEN! I used a PortaPow usb analyzer to check for the optimal angle to place in the sun and found that process unnessary as it charged at over 5volts per device without a hiccup! It is now a perminant part of my backpacking, camping, and survival gear!!!!!
