Eceen 7W Hiking Backpack Review,

This review is from: ECEEN®
Solar Powered Backpack External Frame Hiking Bag Pack with Solar
Charger Panel & 10000 mAh Power Bank for Cell Phones, Tablets,
Digital Cameras Etc. 5v Device Charge
So, to start of the review, let’s discuss what
you get when you buy the backpack. You get the backpack itself, a 7 watt
solar panel, a 10,000 mAh battery, a 2 liter bladder system, and a
micro USB cable to connect the solar panel to the battery.
In
regards to design of the backpack, I think it’s excellent! There’s
plenty of pockets to store your items with 42 liters of total cargo
capacity available. The main large pocket contains the spot for the 2L
bladder system along with extra space to store items. There’s a good
amount of room in that pocket to store supplies for a hike. The second
pocket is a bit smaller but offers room for more supplies like snacks or
other small items. Then we have a pocket that’s behind the solar panel.
I think this is the perfect pocket to store the battery as there’s a
slit to slide cables through from the panel to the inside. There are
also two small pockets on each waist strap.
Some other things to
note aside from pocket are the two water bottle holders on each side and
the included rain cover in its underside compartment. Having the rain
cover is perfect so you don’t have to worry about anything getting wet
in your backpack if it starts raining!
Build quality of the
backpack is fantastic. The material used for the orange is a really
light yet durable material and feels like it will hold up well in use.
The frame of the backpack which is used in the back padding is some kind
of steel. I can’t verify this but it feels very rigid.
As far as
usability goes, the backpack is super comfortable. The back has a sort
of “trampoline suspension system” as they call it which basically allows
airflow between your back and the backpack. The gap that it creates
really does increase airflow and I felt the difference in body
temperature because my back didn’t get hot or sweaty after long periods
of wearing the backpack. The sternum strap and waist strap help to
balance heavy loads well and keep the backpack from swaying.
The
bladder system also works properly. I was able to fill it up and use it
during my hike. I’d recommend, however, rinsing it first just to make
sure nothing was in there from manufacturing. All you have to do to
drink water from it is squeeze the tip or bite it to open the slit and
draw water from it. It’s not a fancy method to get your water like I’ve
seen from other hydration systems but it gets the job done.
Now
let’s talk about one of the main parts of the backpack, the included
solar panel! It works just as expected – it’s enough to charge the
battery over a period of time but it won’t be enough to plug directly
into your phone. Since it’s only 7 watts, this is more for charging the
battery during the day then using the included 10,000 mAh battery as a
backup when you need it. The included battery is very sufficient. At
10,000 mAh it’ll be enough to charge your smartphone a few times. I was
able to give about 2 and a half full charges to my Xperia Z5. Another
thing to note is that it’s fully removable. If you want to use it
separately from the backpack you can just detach it and reattach it with
the 4 holes on the corners. There’s also a small zippered pocket to
store the cable in the back of the solar panel.
Overall it’s an
excellent backpack. During my time hiking with it, it’s definitely done a
great job or carrying my supplies. It’s also been very stable,
supportive, and comfortable. The hydration system is also excellent and
you can swap it out if you ever need to with other hydration packs. The
solar panel works as it should and gives you a source of power if you’re
out hiking for a long time or even short! I hope to continue using it
as my main hiking backpack in the future because I’m sure it will hold
up well – one last thing, I did receive this backpack in exchange for a
review but I’m always honest because I’m a customer just like you!
